Honoring the Creative Process in All Its Forms

Lately, I've been thinking about how growth often happens quietly, off-camera, away from the algorithms, and outside the pressure to constantly share.

As a multimedia artist and lifelong communication student, I've come to accept that not every season needs to be visible to be valid. Social anxiety has shaped the way I express myself, both online and in person. Sometimes, it holds me back from posting updates or sharing my creative process as openly as I'd like. But that doesn't mean I'm not creating—or evolving.

In fact, I've been painting nearly every day, not for likes or validation but because it brings me a sense of rhythm and return. I've also been challenging myself with courses far beyond what feels comfortable.

Even when not posting, I learn, grow, and deepen my practice.

Photography continues to be a core part of my work.

As a photojournalist, I strive to capture real, unscripted moments—genuine interactions, natural light, and the essence of my subjects. I believe in the art of seeing, in honoring someone's presence through the lens with as little interference as possible.

With the right angles and good light, I CAPTURE their aura.

That said, I also understand the power of post-processing and the trust involved in creating images that align with a client's vision.

IF A CLIENT prefers a raw, documentary-style portrait or more refined edits, I'm here to collaborate.

My photography packages are customizable to support your creative goals.

Sometimes, people ask how I balance photography and painting or how my many practices fit together.

The truth is—they don't compete.

They're all parts of the same language.

My art is not about staying in one lane.

It's about honoring how I observe, feel, and connect.

What do photography, portrait and en plein air painting, crochet, knitting, baking, gardening, multimedia art, science fiction and poetry, logo design, vector art, and blogging have in common?

At first glance, not much.

But for me, they all converge at a single point: the need to observe, translate, and connect.

Each is a way of processing the world—turning emotion, memory, and insight into something tangible.

Whether I'm holding a camera, a pen, a brush, or dough between my hands, I'm reaching for the same thing: balance. Wholeness.

A quiet rhythm that brings me back to myself.

Every creative act is a form of communication.

Not just something I do, but something I study. These practices nourish different parts of me. They ground me, especially when anxiety or self-doubt tries to pull me off-center.

Together, they form my creative ecosystem.

Diverse, yes, but unified by a purpose: to create, learn, and keep going.

As a multimedia artist and communicator, I strive to create complex, thoughtful media packages for my clients, customized intentionally for sustainable brand expansion and honest storytelling.

I believe in meaningful work over constant content and in the sacredness of protecting the creative process from burnout and noise.

I haven't shared much recently, but I'm excited to finally return to the light OF THE WORLD WIDE WEB.

I'll unveil new pieces during a group exhibition this August, and I can't wait to share what's been quietly unfolding.

Thank you for being here, even in the silence.

Your presence truly means more than you know.

D.C.
